Fifth Grade Orientation Information
South Elementary Fifth Graders:
Fifth grade students will travel to the Middle School on Thursday, May 9, 2013 in the morning for an orientation program with Mr. Gunuskey, Middle School principal and the Middle School counselors, Mrs. Morton and Mrs. Gravel. A band presentation demonstrating various instruments under the direction of Mrs. Kettering will be offered that same morning. The evening of May 29, 2013, the Middle School staff will conduct an orientation for the parents and students from 6-7 pm in the cafetorium. Mrs. Kettering will be presenting a band information session from 7-8 pm in the gym for students interested in joining the band as a sixth grader in the fall.
North Intermediate Fifth Graders:
Fifth grade students will travel to the Middle School in the morning of May 9, 2013 for a band presentation demonstrating various instruments under the direction of Mrs. Kettering. On Tuesday, May 14, 2013 and Wednesday, May 15, 2013 the students will go to the middle school for their orientation with Mr. Gunuskey, Middle School principal and the school counselors, Mrs. Morton and Mrs. Gravel. National Junior Honor Society Eligibility Information
Information regarding the Wallenpaupack Area National Junior Honor Society is found on Page 30 in the Middle School Student Handbook. If your child qualifies academically for membership consideration, he/she will receive a Candidate Form (formerly referred to as a Student Activities Information Form) soon after the end of the third marking period. Included with that form will be an invitation to an informational meeting for both parents and students at which time any questions concerning the form or NJHS eligibility will be addressed. Please note that the Candidate Forms will require signatures from supervising adults for any activities in which your child has participated during the past year.

2012-2013 Dress Code Information
The Wallenpaupack Area School District has revised the dress code for the High School and Middle School for the 2012-2013 school year. Students and parents should become familiar with the guidelines before shopping for school clothes. The guidelines can be found here.

Please include: your name, student's name, date and reason for absence. If you have children in more than one building, each building must be contacted. For more information, please see Parent/Student Handbook
Important: Please be aware that the official opening of school is 7:50 am. Also, please be aware that children arriving after 8:00 am are marked tardy.
If you are going to pick up a student from school at dismissal time, you must send a note with your child. If someone else is picking up your child, please state so in note. If we do not have a note, the student will be placed on their bus home.

Breakfast Program Hot breakfasts are served every morning in the MS Cafeteria from 7:30 am to 8:10 am. The price is $1.75. Students who receive free/reduced lunch also receive free/reduced breakfast ($.30).

FundingFactory Recycling Program The MS is participating in a free printer cartridge and cell phone recycling program. Recycling items may be submitted to the MS Main Office, attention Mr. Theobald. | |
