School Safety and Security / Threat Assessment

School Safety and Security Coordinator (SSSC): Keith E. Gunuskey, Superintendent

Threat Assessment

The Wallenpaupack Area School District has created threat assessment procedures informed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and the United States Secret Service in an effort to help our District and schools reduce violence and create a safe school climate for all.

The Wallenpaupack Area School District has established a threat assessment team for each school in our district and a district-wide team. The purpose of these teams represents the Boards commitment to protecting the health, safety and welfare of its students and the school community, while providing the resources and support to address identified student needs. The Wallenpaupack Area School District Board of Directors have adopted a Threat Assessment policy (236) to address student behavior that may indicate a threat to the safety of a student, other students, school employees, school facilities, and the community.
