Prodigy State Champs

Students at Wallenpaupack Area North Primary School are celebrating an exciting academic achievement after being recognized as Prodigy Education’s December State Champions for Pennsylvania!

Throughout December, North Primary students worked diligently—both in school and at home—using Prodigy Education, an online learning platform that helps reinforce core math concepts.  Its adaptive learning system personalizes questions to each student’s skill level, helping them build confidence while progressing at their own pace. The platform’s gamified environment keeps learners motivated through quests, rewards, and interactive challenges, which significantly increases engagement and time spent practicing math. Teachers benefit from real‑time data and detailed progress reports, allowing them to pinpoint student needs and align instruction through data-driven practices.

The dedication of our North Primary students paid off in a major way:
Students answered an impressive 15,149 questions correctly, earning the #1 ranking in the entire state!

This outstanding accomplishment also positions North Primary to compete for the Prodigy National Championship, giving the school a chance to win a share of $200,000. Any award money earned would go directly toward supporting math and technology initiatives that benefit students.

North Primary’s second‑grade students and teachers proudly posed for a group photo to celebrate their success and the hard work that made it possible.

Principal Kevin Kromko praised the students and staff for their dedication to strengthening math skills and embracing engaging digital learning tools. He expressed admiration for the ability of the North Primary staff to make math fun, support differentiated instruction, while strenghtening both skill mastery and student enthusiasm for learning.
