WNIS Citizens of the Month for January, 2026. The theme was "Fairness"

Wallenpaupack North Intermediate School is proud to recognize its January Citizens of the Month, celebrating students in grades 3 through 5 who exemplify the character trait of Fairness.

Each month, teachers select students whose actions and attitudes reflect a specific positive character trait. For January, the focus was on fairness — a quality demonstrated through treating others with respect, listening to all perspectives, taking turns, sharing, and making decisions that are just and impartial. Students honored this month consistently show these behaviors in the classroom, during group work, and throughout the school day.

Teachers from every classroom in grades three, four, and five selected one student who best represents this month's theme. These students were chosen for demonstrating honesty, open‑mindedness, and a strong sense of equity in their interactions. Whether helping peers solve conflicts, including others in activities, or modeling patience and empathy, each student recognized reflects the school’s commitment to fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.

The Citizens of the Month program is an important part of Wallenpaupack North Intermediate School’s ongoing effort to promote strong character, responsibility, and community values among its students. By highlighting these traits, the school encourages all students to recognize the impact their behavior has on others and to strive toward personal growth.

The school congratulates all January honorees and looks forward to celebrating next month’s Citizens as the character education program continues throughout the year.
