The recognition of Wallenpaupack's Fine Arts Student of the Month honors students who demonstrate exceptional creativity, dedication, and contribution to the arts within their school community. It serves as a way to celebrate artistic talent while reinforcing the value of self-expression and cultural enrichment in education. This acknowledgment not only motivates students to pursue excellence in the arts but also fosters a positive school culture that appreciates diverse forms of achievement.

This month, we recognize the accomplishments of Genevieve Neenan.

Genevieve, of Hawley, is being recognized for her achievements in music and theatre.  Genevieve has been a member of the marching band, serving as a saxophone section leader for one season, and as drum major for the past two seasons.

She has also been a member of the symphonic band, wind ensemble, jazz band, concert choir (serving as section leader and vice president), chamber choir, show choir, and WAHS Players, as well as the PMEA District Orchestra, District and Region Bands, District, Region, All State, and All Eastern Choirs.

She has also been a member of the cross country, soccer, and scholastics teams, Student Ambassadors, and the National Honor Society, and is a 3x Gold Award recipient.  She was also selected to represent Wallenpaupack as a WVIA Artist of the Week.

Genevieve plans to attend a 4-year university to study music and business, and to eventually work in the music industry.
