The Wallenpaupack Area School District wrestling team continued its reign of dominance at the Jim Thorpe Christmas Tournament, securing its third consecutive team championship in impressive fashion.

Leading the charge for the Buckhorns was Tristan Braxton, who captured a championship title and set the tone for the squad. Close behind, Ayden Blaut earned a hard-fought second-place finish, while Gabe Caufield and Gio Lomonaco both claimed third-place honors. Adding depth to the team’s success, Jake Rafferty finished sixth, and Declan Brown rounded out the medalists with a seventh-place finish.

In addition to their podium performances, the tournament marked a historic milestone for two Buckhorn wrestlers: Gabe Caufield and Gio Lomonaco each celebrated their 100th individual career victory during the event—a testament to their skill, perseverance, and leadership on the mat.

The Buckhorns’ continued success at Jim Thorpe underscores the strength of the program and the dedication of its athletes and coaches. With three straight titles under their belt, Wallenpaupack has firmly established itself as a powerhouse in the region, and the team looks poised for even greater achievements as the season progresses.

Congratulations to the entire Buckhorns team and coaching staff for this incredible achievement. Remember that the journey doesn’t end here—new challenges await, and with the same determination and teamwork, there’s no limit to what can be accomplished next. Go Buckhorns!
