On December 3, 2025, the Wallenpaupack Area School District Board recognized three exceptional students for their academic achievements, extracurricular involvement, and dedication to excellence: Nathan Freethy, Any'ah Caljean, and Logan Caruso. Each student addressed the board during the public meeting, sharing their experiences and future aspirations.


Nathan Freethy, son of Dana and Jason Freethy, has demonstrated remarkable commitment to both academics and the arts. Throughout his high school career, Nathan participated in a wide range of musical ensembles, including Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Marching Band, Jazz Band, Concert Choir, Show Choir, and Chamber Choir. He also contributed to the WAHS Players cast and crew. Beyond his artistic pursuits, Nathan excelled academically as a member of the Scholastic Team and competed in Cross-Country. His honors include distinctions in District Band and Choir, District and Region Orchestra, Region Choir, and Region Band. A three-year member of the National Honor Society, Nathan earned the Gold Award for Academic Excellence and maintained High Honors all four years. After graduation, he plans to attend university to pursue a career in Environmental Engineering.


Any’ah Caljean, daughter of Samantha Micklo and Dominick Caljean, was celebrated for her academic excellence and artistic contributions. An active member of the Art Club for three years, Any’ah showcased creativity and dedication to the arts. Her scholastic achievements include earning the Gold Award for Academic Excellence for three consecutive years, underscoring her strong work ethic. Looking ahead, Any’ah plans to attend either Keystone College or West Chester University to study Psychology or English, with aspirations of a career in education.


Logan Caruso, son of Brian and Meridith Caruso, has distinguished himself as both a scholar and athlete. A three-year member of the National Honor Society, Logan excelled in football, baseball, and wrestling. He completed two years in the Exercise Science and Sports Medicine CTE Program and volunteered for three years with the Volunteers in Paupack program. His accolades include the Gold Award for Academic Excellence for three consecutive years, varsity letters in football and wrestling, and Honorable Mention All-Star recognition for football during the 2024–2025 season. Logan served as Football Captain for the 2025–2026 season and competed at the regional level in wrestling as a freshman. After graduation, he plans to study Physical Therapy in college while continuing his football career.

The Wallenpaupack Area School District Board commended these students for their hard work, leadership, and dedication, wishing them continued success in their future endeavors.
