On December 5th, Wallenpaupack Area High School’s Protective Services Career and Technical Education (CTE) Level II students had the unique opportunity to visit the Scranton Fire and Police Department Headquarters, as well as the Scranton Training Center. This educational experience was designed to give students an inside look at the daily responsibilities and challenges faced by emergency responders.

During the visit, students toured each facility and engaged with professionals who shared insights into their roles and the critical skills required in emergency services. At the Scranton Training Center, students participated in hands-on activities, gaining practical exposure to the equipment and techniques used in rescue operations.

Participating students included Liam Baltes, Dominick Fonti, Calee Head, Connor Marro, Devin Reinking, Owen Robbins, Daniel Russel, and David Slavik.

The group was accompanied by Mr. Michael Macedonia, Protective Services CTE Instructor, and Mrs. Susan Sullum, WAHS College & Career Counselor.

This visit provided students with valuable real-world learning opportunities, reinforcing classroom instruction and inspiring future careers in public safety and emergency response.
