Nicholas Graham is the WVIA Artist of the Week

The Wallenpaupack Area School District is proud to celebrate Nikko Graham, who was recently recognized by WVIA as their Artist of the Week. This well‑deserved honor highlights Nikko’s talent, dedication, and thoughtful approach to visual art.

In his featured segment, Nikko discusses his artwork “Self-Reflection,” a deeply personal painting that explores identity, emotion, and the ways we see ourselves beyond the surface. Rather than focusing on traditional realism, Nikko uses intentional exaggeration and expressive techniques to capture how he experiences his own internal world. His willingness to be honest and vulnerable through his art demonstrates maturity well beyond his years.

Nikko shares that he first fell in love with drawing at a young age before discovering painting and embracing experimentation. He describes art class as an important creative outlet—one that gives him space to decompress, express himself, and reset during the school day. For Nikko, making art is not just a hobby, but a meaningful coping tool and a form of self-discovery.

WVIA’s Artist of the Week program shines a spotlight on outstanding high school artists from across Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania, emphasizing the importance of arts education and the power of creative expression. We are proud to see Nikko’s work recognized on this platform and look forward to seeing where his artistic journey takes him next.
