Lehigh Valley Health Network

On November 17, 2025, ten Wallenpaupack Area High School students had the unique opportunity to visit the Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) Center for Healthcare Education as part of the Health Care Career Pathways program. This initiative is designed to introduce high school students to the wide range of careers available in the healthcare field.

During the visit, students toured LVHN’s state-of-the-art simulation center, where they engaged in several hands-on learning activities. They practiced essential life-saving skills such as first aid, CPR, and AED use with the LVHN Emergency Medicine Institute. Students also explored cutting-edge technology, including digital and interactive anatomical images using the Anatomage Table—a powerful tool for medical education.

The day concluded with an informative career panel discussion, where experts from various healthcare specialties—including pharmacy, genetic counseling, medical imaging, and physician assistant roles—shared insights about their professions and answered student questions.

This experience provided WAHS students with valuable exposure to healthcare careers and highlighted the importance of education and training in this growing field. We are proud of our students for taking advantage of this opportunity to learn and prepare for their future!
