Mental Health Mondays

Wallenpaupack Area High School has introduced a new initiative called Mental Health Mondays, coordinated by Dr. Cara Dougherty and the High School Counseling Department. This program takes place during the lunch block every Monday in the cafeteria and is designed to help students develop healthy coping skills, manage stress effectively, and maintain a positive outlook.

Each week, students participate in fun, interactive activities that promote mental wellness. Members of FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) volunteer during these sessions to encourage their peers to join in and explore strategies for self-care.

The first Mental Health Monday of the new year featured a vision board activity, where students created personalized boards to set goals, focus on supportive relationships, and explore new opportunities for the future.

This initiative reflects WAHS’s commitment to supporting students’ emotional well-being and fostering a positive school environment.
