Race to Rita’s: Middle School Attendance Initiative Driving Success

In middle school, consistent attendance is more than just “showing up.” It’s the foundation for academic success and social-emotional growth. Research shows that by 6th grade, chronic absenteeism becomes a major warning sign for future performance. The WNIS Show Choir recently showcased their talent at the annual WAHS Band & Color Guard Craft Fair on Sunday. Under the direction of Mrs. Loriann Kerber, these dedicated 5th graders practice weekly to prepare for performances throughout the year. n November 13, members of the Pike County Chamber of Commerce gathered at The Landing at Matamoras for the annual Chamber Champions Awards Dinner, an evening dedicated to honoring individuals and organizations making a positive impact in our community.  During the event, Nichole Granville, PTSA President for Wallenpaupack Area North Elementary Schools and founder of Caleb’s Pennies From Heaven, was recognized for her outstanding volunteer contributions.
