CO-OP PROGRAM
CO-OP CLASS - 1 credit
Grade 12
This course is designed to provide practical information and methods for securing employment. Contents include: job applications, job interviews, self-evaluation, using money wisely, legal responsibilities, health and safety, human relations skills, taxpaying, insurance and post-high school education and training.
CO-OP WORK PROGRAM - 2 credits
Grade 12
Required: Co-op Class/Minimum 16 years of age
This is a credited work release program and class. It is a program of vocational education available to seniors who, through a cooperative arrangement between the school and the employers, receive instruction by alternation of study in school with a job in an occupational field approved by the co-op work coordinator.
Requirements:
- The student must schedule Co-op class.
- A minimum of 15 hours work experience per week (for a total of 540 hours during the school year) is required
- It is the student’s responsibility to arrange employment prior to the beginning of the school year.
- Employment position must be approved by the instructor upon return to school in September.
