6th, 7th & 8th Grade Wellness Grading Policy
There will be 4 marking periods for each school year. The marking period grades will be averaged to attain the final grade for that school year.
The Marking Period Grades will be compiled as follows:
HEALTH GRADING PROCEDURE
1. Students will receive a minimum of 3 graded tests or quizzes in each Health section.
2. Students will receive a minimum of 2 graded homework assignments in each Health section.
Physical Education Grading Procedure
1. Students will receive a weight room or an outdoor adventure grade as follows:
Each day a student can earn up to 5 points per day for Weight Room and Outdoor
Adventure Education.
1pt for being on time
1pt for being prepared
1pt for overall effort for the day
1pt for overall attitude for the day
1pt is bonus for anything the student does that requires extra participation
(helping someone, helping the teacher, or going above and beyond what is
expected for the day)
2. Students will receive a Physical Education grade as follows:
Each day a student can earn up to 5 points per day for Physical Education.
1pt for being on time
1pt for being prepared
1pt for overall effort for the day
1pt for overall attitude for the day
1pt is bonus for anything the student does that requires extra participation
(helping someone, helping the teacher, or going above and beyond what is
expected for the day)
** If a student is not prepared for activity, the student will lose two points. One point is for being unprepared and the other point is for effort.
The final grade for the Wellness section will be compiled as follows:
We calculate a final Wellness grade by taking the total number of points earned and dividing it into the possible points.
